Fancy Dress Program on Gandhi Jayanti at SKS Public School
At SKS Public School, we celebrate Gandhi Jayanti in a way that allows even our youngest students to engage with history. As the best school in Durgapur, we aim to make learning about Mahatma Gandhi’s life fun and interactive for children. One of the most exciting activities during this celebration is the Fancy Dress Competition, where our KG students dress up as “Little Gandhis” to honor the great leader.
Fancy Dress Competition: Little Gandhis in Action
The highlight of our Gandhi Jayanti celebration for KG students is the Fancy Dress Competition. Our little ones come dressed in simple white dhotis, round glasses, and Gandhi’s iconic bald cap, recreating the image of Mahatma Gandhi in an adorable way. This activity is not just about dressing up but also about encouraging the students to learn about his values through participation.
Making the Event Fun and Educational:
- Role-Play: The students participate in a small role-play where they enact important moments from Gandhi’s life, such as the Dandi March or his non-violent protests. This allows them to express their understanding of Gandhi’s ideals of peace and non-violence in a playful yet meaningful manner.
- Mini Parade: To make the event more engaging, we organize a mini parade around the school premises. The KG students, dressed as little Gandhis, march together, holding banners with messages like “Peace and Unity” and “Truth Wins.” This creates a lively atmosphere while reinforcing Gandhi’s principles of unity and peaceful resistance.
- Creative Learning: The Fancy Dress Competition isn’t just about costumes. Teachers also engage students with simple stories and lessons about Gandhi’s life, explaining values like truth, kindness, and respect. This interactive approach ensures that the young minds grasp the essence of Gandhi’s teachings in a fun, hands-on way.
At SKS Public School, we take pride in offering engaging and thoughtful activities that combine education and enjoyment, making us the best school in Durgapur for holistic development. Gandhi Jayanti is one of the many occasions where we encourage our students to learn important values through creative expression.
